Polets Family and school marathon
Family and school marathon is an event, intended for families with children, schools and entry level cyclists. The route is 28 km long and completely flat. As safety is of paramount importance, the roads will be completely closed for all traffic so you can enjoy a nice cycling excursion around Ljubljana with your children.
As Family and school marathon is intended to promote benefits of active lifestyle and recreation with cycling as one of the best ways of doing it, there will be no starting fee. To further motivate all partakers, a medal and lunch will be presented to all finishers at the start/finish village. Special attention is given to organized groups of children from elementary schools. The largest group will receive an award.
The marathon in ridden in a closed fashion, with start in BTC City at 16:00. We will ride on Šmartinska street towards Šmartno ob Savi and Sneberje. Then continue on the side roads through Šentjakob, Beričevo, Videm, Dol until Dolsko. There will be a refreshment point in Dolsko with an obligatory 7 minute pause. After that we will continue towards Zalog and Sneberje where we join Šmartinska street again towards the finish in BTC City.
